Jan von Holleben is a 37 year old man from the southern German countryside. When he was 13, he started to follow his dads career path of a photographer by picking up a camera and trying different "magic tricks", trying out new things and working up his understanding of photography, it was a way from him to have fun and let his brain go wild. after he finnished school at Pädagogische Hochschule in Freiburg, he moved to London, England to go to school. he earned a degree in Theory and History of Photography at Surrey Institute of Art and Design. Then started his career in London, where he worked as picture editor, art director and photographic director. He is now known famously around the world. his favourite collabs are his friends and any pirates, fairies, dragons, monsters and punks that are about. he also enjoys herbal tea, Bircher Müsli, colourful socks, his bike, long swims and walking in the mountains.

Some Photos with Critiques
This photo interested me a lot. as i looked at it i noticed multiple different things. i noticed the blue top underneath everything to give the mind the thought of water, the plants as underwater seaweed the sock (i think) as fish, and the rocks as the bottom of the ocean. The boy is facing downwards giving me the impression he's swimming down, obviously towards the chest full of goods. the edges of the picture seem a bit darker then around him, which signifies that he's not by the surface, a really interesting image in all.

this photo is different than the first. this one is a lot brighter saying he obviously not anywhere dark, the way his feet flay shows there isn't any resistance, the random balloons show he's in the air. is one arm shows he's grasping on as he's being shot up. he's pointing up showing us that he is in fact going up. i also like the different colours so the picture does not get boring.

This photo caught my eyes for multiple reasons, again with the tarp in the back it shows darkness, not nighttime, but the darkness of space. the planets and the astronaut suits show that. the balls are planets, the grey one being the moon because of the flag. gravity is also shown in the photo by the kid drifting off and the boy on the moon.
